Stock Management Assistant

Title:  Stock Management Assistant
Reports to: Administration & Finance Manager with copy to Logistics & Warehouse Manager

Purpose of Position
To work as part of the delivery team in order to ensure all stock is tagged, size cubed and stored in the correct place, on time and to Company standard. To perform market research for new products according to the population needs.

A role in market research is all about data. As the name suggests, S/he has to plan, implement, control, analyse and report on information that you gather from the market. The data you collect will normally revolve around what organisations or people buy, need, do or think and the reasons why.

Duties & Responsibilities

  1. Stockroom Standards:
    To work as part of the delivery team in order to ensure all deliveries are processed on time and to Company standard through:
  • consistently achieving Company productivity and accuracy targets for delivery, replenishment etc;
  • maintaining high standards of housekeeping at all times within area’s of responsibility
    bringing faulty or damaged stock, or delivery discrepancies, to the attention of the Logistician & warehouse Manager being aware of new lines.

2. Working as Part of a Team:
To work as part of the stockroom team to achieve personal and store objectives through:

  • carrying out reasonable additional duties as and when required e.g. sales floor cover, acting as a training sponsor (if required);
  • supporting and helping colleagues with their daily tasks as and when required showing a genuine interest in other people and willingness to help having the ability and willingness to acquire job knowledge through self development and by learning from others demonstrating flexibility in order to meet store needs and special events e.g. sale, peak trading periods

Qualifications & Profile
The Stock Management Assistant must:

  • Have a minimum high school diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 5 years experience;
  • Be able to assume the responsibilities assigned to it;
  • Be available, honest, serious and have the trust of others;
  • Have great organizational skills;
  • Have an ability in the management and accounting;
  • Investigating market activity;
  • Analysing trends, data and statistics;
  • Evaluating past performance of a product;
  • Assessing future trends
  • Commissioning surveys;
  • Participate on market research.
