Title: Assistant Country Coordinator
Reports to: Country Coordinator
Purpose of Position
The Assistant Coordinator is expected contribute to the development of the concept as well as the management of the operations.
Development
The Assistant Coordinator is expected to provide strategic leadership in the areas of program development and implementation across development and social franchising programming. A major emphasis in this position is to play a strong managerial role in ensuring that the SRH project is designed and implemented to the highest standards for quality and accountability along with delivering the desired impacts in making a significant contribution to improving sexual and reproductive health within the SRH consortium.
Operations
The Assistant Coordinator is responsible for increasing the efficiency of a business’s product and services. For this reason, he has to maintain discipline among the entrepreneurs and motivate them to improve their output. In terms of production, he will make financial decisions for purchasing items and manage the company’s budget. If they find new techniques to improve the performance of the entrepreneurs, he implements them.
Duties & Responsibilities
The Assistant Coordinator is responsible for:
- Ensuring the implementation of directives of the HE SI Executive Committee;
- Organizing and chairing the meetings of provincial supervisors who are under his responsibility (3 provinces);
- Identifying strategic directions, objectives and the means to set up after analysis and evaluation of various components of the market.
- Coordinating and controlling with his team, the designing’s activities and implementation needed to develop the market for goods or services offered by HE SI.
- Writing periodic reports on the progress of field’s activities and making appropriate recommendations;
- Staff Management
- Development, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of country office
- Management of programs and projects and ensure that they are in line with CO strategies and with the CI

- Perform other duties as assigned
- To ensure the implementation of directives of the HE SI Executive Committee related to field operations and entrepreneurs management
- To chair the meetings of provincial’s supervisors/animators who are under his responsibility (3 provinces);
- To manage cash flows and flows of goods to or from entrepreneurs in partnership with provincial’s supervisors
- To represent or be represented IF HE Burundi at internal meetings that HE is invited by order of the Director;
- Make periodic reports on the progress of field activities and make appropriate recommendations;
The Assistant Coordinator may be assisted in his duties as required by three provincial supervisors who can deputize in the event of unavailability or delegation.
Qualifications & Profile
The Assistant Director in charge of Development shall:
- Have a degree in public health or social sciences or extensive experience in the field (min 5 years);
- Be able to assume the responsibilities assigned to him/her;
- Must be an experienced manager;
- Must demonstrate considerable autonomy;
- Must be an excellent negotiator;
- Must know how to invest in its business;
- Must be flexible and adaptable;
- Must be creative and cunning;
- Must be an experienced manager;
- Able to manage human, financial and material resources;
- Strong organization skills with the ability to prioritize competing demands;
- Proven ability in making sound business decisions (focus on the decision-making process);
- Proven leadership ability (focus on being proactive, leading/driving change, repeatedly achieving given goals,
- Demonstrated success working within a matrix organization and team environment while meeting/exceeding expectations;
- Ability to work a flexible schedule and evening or weekend shifts.
